NOSTOS

The section, "Nostos," is a sculptural retrospective on memory, drawing from personal experiences and references to childhood. Everyday objects—such as the summer granita, the chocolate treat from grandmother, the ritual of a gathering, and Greek coffee, as well as images from the Skyrian embroideries of her mother and the butterfly threads—transform into symbols of nostalgia and belonging.

Art historian Ira Papapostolou describes the work by stating: “Eva works guided by instinct and practical knowledge. She follows the laws of nature and, possessing the imagination of a poet, creates genuine works of art.” Additionally, art critic Denis Zacharopoulos notes: “The pieces of marble are presented as fragments of a larger piece of nature and material reality. Eva Papadopoulou has found an unexpected way to confront the gravity of history with the lightness of artistic practices, which fragment and reassemble at the turn of a new millennium in art.”
